Hi again everyone!
Another whirlwind weekend has passed and I am enjoying some more downtime at home. I leave for the next 2 World Cup stops in China (Chongqing/Haiyang) on Sunday and am currently in the middle of unpacking, repacking, training, catching up on e-mails...oh and a bit of relaxing too ;)
Vail is always a busy weekend, packed with other events and cute dogs, there is always something to see at the GoPro Mountain Games. Now onto the climbing!
Qualifiers were once again split. My final score was 3 Tops 6 Attempts, 4 Bonuses 5 Bonuses 9 Attempts. I was 1 Attempt out of semi-finals, putting me in 11th place in my category and 21st place overall. Unfortunately this attempt also happened to be a foot slip at the start of a problem, such a bummer!
Nonetheless I felt like I climbed really well, even better than I climbed in Toronto. I am confident going into the next World Cup (Chongqing) that I will continue to climb well and improve. Although the setting is obviously different between each World Cup stop, I am feeling more confident on the setting and sure of what I am doing.
Once again, Nathaniel Coleman made finals and placed 2nd. Megan Mascarenas took 1st place for the women, which was INCREDIBLE to see! Margo Hayes also placed 6th in finals, another wonderful feat. It was so cool to see 3 climbers from USA in finals and to see them climb so well. Go team!
Now I am back to the summer heat for a short week and then off to China!
On to the next adventure...
