Roxy Photo Shoot

Hey everyone!

It's finally time for another blog, yay!

For the past five days, I've been in Santa Cruz shooting with the Roxy team and having the time of my life.

We shot outdoor fitness for a total of 3 days, so I'll do my best to give a recap of each!

Wednesday, November 14

-I arrived in Santa Cruz during the evening and got to meet all of the girls.  The surf team is crazy stacked, it was so cool to meet so many amazing athletes!

Thursday, November 15 (Day 1 Shooting)

-While all of the other girls had to wake up at 4:15 AM...I got to sleep in until 4:30 AM ;)  In the morning we headed out to Greyhound Beach for sunrise, which was absolutely beautiful!  After shooting for a few hours we made the drive to Pinnacles National Park where I got to do some climbing.  We ended up leaving around 5:00 PM when the park closed and were back at the hotel at 7:00 PM, talk about a long day!

Friday, November 16 (Day 2 Shooting)

-Wake up wasn't as early today, which was nice!  We took the Roxy bus to Castle Rock where we sat in the rain for a few hours, the weather was not on our side for this trip.  On the bright side, I was able to catch up on a lot of homework during this down time! :)

Saturday, November 17 (Day 3 Shooting)

-Another early day for us, we were up and out of the hotel by 6 AM.  We made the long drive to Pinnacles again and waited out the rain until it was dry enough to do some shooting.  The rain was on and off all day, so it was a mixture of shooting and hiding under roofs to stay dry!  We also saw some deer which were so cute!  After shooting another long day we headed back to the hotel and went out for dinner at a healthy vegan restaurant.  Needless to say, we're all hooked on the vegan milkshakes they made.

Sunday, November 18

-Sad day, time to go home!

Needless to say, I had an awesome time on the shoot.  Everyone at Roxy (crew and team) is so nice.  They're one big family that I feel like I have become part of.

I'm heading back to AZ now...but not for long!  I'll be heading to Disneyland to speak for Sanuk on December 1 and Hawaii for the holidays!

More soon!

Wednesday September 21: Flew into Manchester and tooka 2.5 hour car ride to our hotel in Burlington. Arrived around 12:30 AM Vermont time.

Thursday September 22:  This was my day to explore Burlington with my parents!  We walked around town, tried some awesome restaurants, did a little shopping, and mainly focused on resting for the next day.

Friday September 23:  First day of competition!  The weather was awesome today, nice and sunny, but not too hot.  This was the day of qualifiers for men and women.  I flashed all 5 of the problems, tying for first with Alex Johnson.

Saturday September 24:  Second day of competition!  The weather didn't hold up so well today, semi-finals was cancelled due to rain.  Because of this, all of the men and women who made it to semi-finals also advanced to finals. This was really fun because everyone got to compete in finals, so the crowd and the climbers were super psyched.

Unfortunately, I did not top any of the problems, landing me in 7th place.  I am still extremely proud of my performance and can only hope to do better next year!  Congrats to Angie Payne and Ian Dory on the win, that was amazing!

Sunday September 25:  Sadly this was the day that I flew home, I'm still missing the cool weather of Vermont and the fun of the competition!

Thank you so much Pete and Jason, you did an amazing job, as well as the sponsors.

Next on the agenda:

October 1: ABS local at The Phoenix Rock Gym

October 14-15: Yank 'N Yard at Stone Age in Albuquerque

October 22: Psychedelia at The Spot in Boulder

More soon!
