Hi again everyone!
My favorite World Cup of the year is officially over! I love going to Vail, being in the mountains, and of course, competing!
The weekend started with a small mishap...I booked our condo for Friday-Monday instead of Thursday-Sunday! After a quick few minutes of panic we were lucky enough to be accommodated by our hotel and we were able to check-in. Later that night I attended the US Team meeting where I received my new jersey, vest, and bag for the remaining World Cups of the season.
The following day qualifiers took place in the afternoon for women. Due to the large number of competitors the qualification round was split into two groups. Unfortunately I did not have enough tops to make semi-finals, you needed two and I only had one. It's always a bummer to not make the next round, mainly because you miss out on climbing even more new/fun problems!
Even though I didn't make it to the next round, I loved watching semi-finals and finals. The setting at World Cup's is always so creative and watching everyone climb the boulder problems in their own style is inspiring. It has also been really cool to see Shauna Coxsey's dominance this season, she has just been crushing it on the circuit.
On Sunday morning I visited Movement in Denver for a climbing session before my flight. I had an awesome time! It was so fun to get on new boulder problems, especially ones set with a competition style in mind. I love getting on new boulder problems and that has been a huge benefit of traveling.
Post Movement session I caught my flight back to Phoenix! Overall I had a great weekend and I'm looking forward to enjoying a summer filled with training and traveling.
On to the next adventure...
