I think that it is safe to say that my last week has been absolutely awesome, I have gotten to do so many fun things.
Last week started off with a trip to Priest Draw in Flagstaff, AZ. The weather was perfect, it was great to escape the heat of Phoenix. I tried a lot of fun problems, and even got on The Egyptian. The Egyptian is a V10, maybe a V11 (I’m not sure where the grade sits at these days), but it is the coolest problem I have ever seen. I have always wanted to send it since I was little, and with a lot of work I know that this will someday be possible.
The second cool thing that happened this week was meeting Rob Dyrdek. Rob is a professional skateboarder, and is on Fantasy Factory and Rob and Big. I am a huge fan of him so when I found out that he was in town signing autographs, I was there in a heartbeat!
Finally the third great thing about this week was attending the Street League Pro Tour! I barely follow skateboarding, but it was so much fun to go to this event. Qualifiers were fun to watch, and finals were absolutely amazing. It’s so cool to see such great athletes in my hometown. I only hope that someday climbing will be as big as skateboarding has become.
Now I’m about to get packing, I’m heading off to California tomorrow for a week to do some serious climbing and relaxing!
