So it’s time to write about my latest competiton, the first annual Knuckledragger’s Ball at Ape Index!
The competition took place in 3 rounds, redpoint qualifiers, onsight semi-finals, and onsight finals.
First off I have never climbed so much in a day! Qualifiers weren’t too tiring, but after semis I was exhausted! I sent 3 of the 4 problems and was in need of a serious rest.
Luckily with a few hour break in between rounds I was able to sneak in a nap on the upstairs couch and be well rested for finals.
Finals was the same format as semi-finals, 4 problems, 5 minutes on, 5 minutes off. I ended up completing all 4 problems again and placed first.
For the men, Michael Bautista won.
After a long day it was great to be able to go out to dinner with all of my climbing friends, and relax for the rest of the night!
The competition was extremely fun, and I am looking forward to the Knuckledragger’s Ball next year!
As for the next few weeks for me, I’m starting by taking a week of rest for my body to recover. My next competition is November 19 at AZ On The Rocks.
